The Douglas clan gathered to celebrate the birth of our patriarch, G. Bruce Douglas. GBD spawned 5 handsome children over the years. While some of them made the drive from as far away as Mandarin, Fl, it was Bruce (the eldest) who traveled the farthest for the festivities. He and Merri made the trek from Georgia to wish Poppa Bruce a Happy 75th and to sample some world famous cake from The French Pantry.

While all grandchildren and great grandchildren could not be in attendance, we certainly had enough people to field a game of Bocce Ball around the premises. When played by the adults, this yard game usually results in some broken landscaping lights, trampled bushes, and a cracked paver or two, but in honor of the big 7-5, we let the younger children play a safer version in the grass.
It was a beautiful day for a birthday bash. The sun was shining and the Blue Angels were roaring overhead. Many conversations were lost in the reverberations of the Air Show that took place over GBD's patio. The Olive Garden spread was choice and the cake was sinful. It isn't often that the siblings are all united in one place, but there was no better time to come together than on Dad's birthday, to share some food and fellowship with those who matter most. Happy 75th Dad! We love you!
