New Recruits

The river was rough, the skies were gray, and the local Green Cove mullet gangers were out in full force, my friends. However, the July 4th weekend river bash brought a whole band of new recruits to the Severed Spine Ski Club. Two fiesty, guac eatin', wide eyed bangers from Miramar arrived fresh off the city bus. These non-first timers grew up on a pair of skiis, spent time in the summer months carving up the southern waters as youngsters.... even birthed their first little one while skiing slalom-tandem style in quad-competition.
Joining the club, injuries included are: David "Gulp of Water" Duncan: Inverted IT band, cut feet and
Dayna"Feathered Evil Eye" Duncan: Two children in two years, bruised back, water logged eye socket

The conditions were rough, but the day could not have been better. The only casualty was a golden haired viking cap atop the dome of "Suck My Wake" Weaver who took a nasty nose dive and sweet face plant right into the mouth of the St. Johns.....forever lost to sea. Other than that, David's bloody feet cut from barnacles were healed by the medicinal waters of the river.

BOOM!

Well and then there was Dayna's "mysterious" eye. We aren't sure what happened, but after we sat down at Ronnie's for some wings....it came hither. It may be hard to tell from the picture but, im pretty sure it was the intense face plant that bloodied her cornia, split her sclera, and even ruffled her feathers.

Eye or no eye she hung in there like a champ.

Another classic day skiing on the St. Johns. See you on the water.
