We can't believe it! Our precious bundle of spastic joy has lived to see her first birthday. There were too many close calls to count this year and we were starting to doubt that this day would ever come. Her first year on earth (first 7 years to her) has been filled with rivoting adventures. A 2.5 hour run along State Road 13 and State Road 16 with her brother Ruckus, in what we humans refer to as 'The Great Easter Escape of 09', the electrifying thrill of a shock collar, months of copraphagia pill taste testing, numerous emergency visits, and a nasty bout with silent heat.

As a birthday gift, her grandparents, Amma & Papa, gave her this XL pink Party Collar. She was thrilled! We doubled it up around her neck and took her outside for some birthday pics, tricks, and poses before it was time to serve the All Beef Hot Dogs, recently prepared on our kitchen stove. Chris and I ate 2 each earlier and knew the pups would enjoy them as well. It has become a tradition to serve Hot Dogs to the pups on their birthdays, but after some slight indigestion on Ruck's 1st Birthday, after he

downed the hot dog AND bun in 10 seconds flat, we decided to fore go the bun. I had to stop Chris as he was about to load on the condiments. "Do you really think ketchup is a good idea?", I asked. Bless his heart, he just gets so into it. I love it! So plain wieners it was, served on party napkins. True to form, May inhaled her All Beef Wiener without chewing, while Ruckus savored the flavor for a full 8 seconds.

I'm not sure if it was a good idea to make her do tricks after just eating half a serving of kibble, a frank, and then a large patch of grass, but hey, it's a party folks! Mayhem is not our brightest, or even most loving dog, but she makes up for it with her athleticism and her ability to crack us up with her noisy bodily functions. So we decided to combine the two and make her jump, twist, and get those stomach gasses churning. Look at this girl go.

She may be a little girl, but even a a pink frilly collar can't turn her into a lady.

She has no shame in relieveing herself in public or looking you square in the face and letting the burps fly.
What can we say, that's just our Sweet May.
