Severed Spine Ski Club

It has been a dream of mine for many months to bring together some of the finest athletes in the greater Jacksonville area to join with me in putting together a top notch "old school" ski team. A true Team, built on rugged skills and the use of two skiis, where competition would bring out fierce, fiery, wet competitors, starving for a chance to drop a ski and ride slalom until the sun goes down easy on a cool summer night.

Well similar to realizing my long time hero Steven Seagal is only a mid-level actor.....my dreams have been crushed....but only crushed to a certain extent. You see I'm a glass half full kind of dude...a grass is greener right where im standing kind of guy. So while other so-called athletes are running marathons in the desert, swimming across the arctic circle, riding their 10-speed from New York to London, or even paddling up Niagara falls, I found a certain three other athletes/champions right on my speed dial. The only change we made was to alter this group of indivduals from a team to a club. Let's face it....there were no tryouts so we surely aren't a team. A club is for anyone to join, regardless of skill level. And who cares if they were the only ones to answer my calls, or if I lied about where we were going. The point is they are all in and all about skiing this summer. The following is a roster for the Severed Spine Ski Club and a list of existing injuries. We sure hope this roster will expand.

Erin "Spread Eagle Legs" Douglas - Sprained left index finger, scraggly nail polish, cough

Ramsey "Potassium Gluconate" Lewis - Herniated disk, club feet

Meghan "Suck My Wake" Weaver - Sprained left ankle, missing placenta sac

Christopher "Loose Limbs" Weaver - damaged lower lumbar, sniffles

The heart of a champion truly shows when an individual will ski no matter what condition they are in. I'm so proud of this group. Kinda.

The summer is long my fellow skiers......so come on out to the river, stretch the hammies, lube up your ankles, and keep those knees tucked.
